A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an operations manager to join our business reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (and a dotted line into the Chief Operations Officer). This is a newly created role within the finance & compliance function with a specific remit to organize and oversee the daily operations of the group to ensure that the business is well-coordinated and productive by managing its procedures and coaching its people.
The position will ensure candidates are onboarding compliantly and efficiently & paid accurately. The role will have additional duty to drive improved Governance, streamline current processes by adopting new IT systems, and ensure the business is adequately protected. You will manage a team of approximately 6-7 team members, with scope to grow. As operations manager, you will be responsible for the delivery & execution of a standard operating model, enhancing customer experience, systems, compliance/business protection& management of global billing and the credit control function.
The area of responsibility for this role is wide-ranging and shall require in-depth knowledge of various company processes.
Key Accountabilities
Create, implement and develop a standard operating model including systems integration which align to SOM and commercial business growth (Bullhorn compliance, automation, contractor workflows, Xactly & Autometry) to ensure a smooth end-to-end contractor journey.
Managing and optimising the performance by ensuring the teams are working at peak efficiency and effectiveness to provide a high-level service for the business internally and externally; ensuring candidates are onboarding compliantly, efficiently & paid accurately.
Working alongside the Financial Controller to design focused activity to drive aged debt downwards and improve DSO, through building strong process understanding with the sales support team.
Contractor care and business protection, including issuing contracts, disputes & resolutions.
Tracking contractor satisfaction. NPS score and utilisation.
Relationship Manager for suppliers across the business (Compliance, IT)
Key main point of contact for contractor payroll funding platform (Sonovate)
Act as the Groups Data Protection Officer – Liaising with regulatory bodies in relation to data complaints, SAR requests and compliance with data protection/privacy laws across UK, Europe & America.
Acting as the Group insurance manager – responsible for renewing and managing all group policies. Management of relationships with insurance brokers. Internal insurance advice provided on policies and limits within contracts.
Building successful networks with sales so that process improvements can be made across the operation.
Implementation and project management of back-office systems to drive change.
Ensure that the company runs with legality and conformity to established legislation – signing terms, worker compliance, right to work, insurance checks, legal disputes on outstanding debt
Setting KPIs and targets across the team to drive delivery excellence.
Establish high performing team, motivated to deliver high standards of service to the business
Here's what you’ll need to succeed:
Proven experience in recruitment compliance (UK & EU) having dealt with a range of contract heavy recruitment businesses of around at least 200 contractors
Extensive recruitment experience across all operational functions (pay & bill, credit control, contracts, compliance)
Ability to build strong management relationships and resolve cross-functional issues and drive new processes.
Highly organized, ability to work under pressure and to balance the workload.
Ability to appraise current processes and deliver key changes autonomously.
Communicates effectively and inspires people at all levels whilst gaining the investment of others to drive towards and achieve a high-performance culture.
In depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles (e.g., supply chain, finance, customer service etc.)
Staffing industry experience is key with a thorough understanding of end to end recruitment process
Previous experience with Bullhorn/ In Time an advantage
Knowledge of industry’s legal rules & guidelines
desirable.
