Virgin Money’s Culture, Capability and Organisational Development consultants were leading an initiative to develop the talent assessment and interviewing mindset of their Leadership team. To prepare for this initiative, Virgin Money assigned the SODA squad the task of delivering a bespoke unconscious bias workshop.
SODA delivered a one-hour, interactive webinar on Objective Assessment & Unconscious Bias to 14 attendees. This webinar provided insight into the meaning behind unconscious biases, as well as raised awareness and understanding of how this could come to light in an interview environment. SODA also explored the aspects of managing unconscious bias, focusing on methodical ways of thinking, its application in the interview setting, and how to consider reasonable adjustments.
The webinar helped raise awareness of implicit biases, impacting assessors’ behaviours and supporting healthier hiring decisions. We had a positive response from our audience, underscoring the high level of engagement and uptake from the bespoke workshop.
